there's also mythical kitchen's Last Meals series which I love cause you get to learn so much about the people, the host josh always does so much research and asks such good questions and the conversations tend to dig so much deeper than other interview shows ive seen

i enjoy both of them but i cant help but noticing the fact that every popular journalist tries to be friends with the celebrity instead of actually cornering them. every interview feels like a chance for the celebrity to say their piece instead of answering ''hard and honest'' questions...

I enjoy both but Sean from hot ones ask really great, well researched questions. It’s so refreshing to see him bond with the celebrities while simultaneously asking questions that are interesting for both the fans and celebrity being interviewed. He’s also very respectful!

Nobody is gonna be able to talk about “hard hitting questions” when it’s cut down to 6 minutes. These are interviews obviously for lols. none of these celebrities teams would go anywhere near a serious interview in this climate.

the collective distaste for the YouTube food centric celebrity talk shows isn't its format it's the fact that it's the only type of long form interviews nowadays. it's either a podcast with a lighthearted tone and a host that just wants to befriend the famous person or a stupid segment with jimmy fallon, artists don't talk about art seriously or in depth anymore!

I wonder if part of it is that they are now not only just talking, but also doing something for the audience te watch. It is another thing to keep you focused besides just te literal interview in this age of the cooked attention span.

Celebrities are too rehearsed in their answers. Although both food, one uses literal pain and the other deadpan responses to shock them into interesting moments. And they both do it cheaply without paying a big name comedian to MC it.
