The cheerful chirping of the little fluffballs softened into curious whispers, as though even they understood they were entering somewhere special. YuYu, her hands tucked into her pockets while her tiny companions bounced happily around her feet. "This place just keeps showing off," she murmured with a small smile. "First floating rivers, then a tree the size of a small country... what's next?" Almost as if the world had heard her question, the trees suddenly parted and beyond them lay a pond. Its water was so perfectly still that it resembled a polished mirror more than a body of water. Every color in the sky reflected across its surface with impossible clarity, making it look as though another universe had been trapped beneath the glass. Delicate crystal reeds lined the shore, chiming softly whenever the breeze brushed past them, while flowers made entirely of translucent gemstones floated lazily atop the water without creating even the smallest ripple. YuYu stopped in her tracks before slowly walking closer until she reached the water's edge. She crouched, resting one hand on her knee as she admired the impossibly clear surface. "I don't think I've ever seen water this still..." One of the smallest fluffballs, however, had very different priorities. It had spotted a sparkling dragonfly hovering above the pond. The little creature crouched, its tiny wings fluttered. YuYu looked over just in time to realize what was about to happen. "...Wait—" The fluffball launched itself and completely missed the dragonfly. It disappeared straight into the crystal pond — tiny bubbles rose to the surface. A second later— Sploooosh! The little creature burst back out of the water with a delighted squeak, shaking itself enthusiastically as droplets scattered in every direction. Except... Its fluffy cream-colored fur was gone. Well, not gone, more like transformed. Every strand now shimmered like clear crystal. Its little wings had become translucent, sparkling like gemstones, while its fluffy tail glittered as though someone had carved it from pure quartz. Just then, the pond itself changed. Gentle ripples spread across its perfectly smooth surface. The water slowly began to glow with a soft silver light, illuminating the entire clearing. Tiny crystalline petals drifted upward instead of downward, floating into the air like glitter caught in a breeze. YuYu instinctively took a step closer. "...Well..." She folded her arms thoughtfully, unable to hide the curiosity creeping onto her face. "I have a feeling this pond has a story."
