Texture will disappear with variegated yarn because the variegation brings its own texture! Save the variegated yarns for smoother stitches! If you’re doing lace use a yarn that is in high contrast to your skin tone or whatever you plan to wear under the lace so those stitches have maximum POP! If you’re doing colourwork choose yarns that are in high contrast to each other AND steer away from variegated to maximize the differences between the yarns. You won’t regret it!
