The “V” in Saturn V is a Roman numeral. Should say Saturn Five. Fun fact, there is a civic center in Huntsville, Alabama named after Von Braun.

Nerd out on history all you want, Ms. Bacon!! Look up the Fat Electrician on YT. Nick (Fat Electrician) is a big history buff. Also, Von Braun settled into Huntsville, AL, which is why it's so important in our space program.💯💯

You also have to look at the time. And what was happening. We had just finished a long 4 1/2 year war and thought we were about to go to war again against Russia. In their mind it was either we use the German scientist or Russia would. History is not always pretty, but we are looking at it from an armchair quarterback type of position and not in the moment in which they lived.

Answer to the dilemma: Would you rather battle (by innovation, weapons development, scientific research) against morally questionable people, or make them work for your goals (space program, missiles? The world is a mixed bag full of people who are mixed bags. If you can achieve “good” goals using the labor of “bad” people, I thing the result doesn’t have to be tainted.

You can expand the question to include working with leaders in countries where there is a need for aid. Should a country intervene and provide support to another country’s citizens if that country’s leader is of questionable political views?

Another thing to consider... how many of these men were forced to serve under the Nazis or else they would have been killed. It makes the moral narrative a little more complex
