๐Ÿซ›SESAME EDAMAME (GOMASHIO) ๐Ÿซ› Follow @lydiafvernon for more feel good recipes! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป Edamame is one of those things I always order when I go to places like @wagamama but now I am a complete convert on making them at home. They take literally minutes to make and so easy. They make a great, healthier snack to chow down on whilst watching the Euros with a cold crisp beer. Edamame can be find in a lot of your main supermarkets now which is just dreamy. I sourced @YutakaEats edamame from @Waitrose & Partners . Obviously you can just season edamame with some chili salt or soy but I decided to create a sesame paste influenced by the Japanese sesame salt, Gomashio. A good quality sea salt is needed here so I used @Maldonโ€‚Salt . This sesame paste is really easy to make and so addictive. RECIPE๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป * 400g frozen edamame * 6 tbsp white sesame seeds * 1 tsp salt, extra to garnish * 1 tbsp tahini * 2 tbsp sake * 2 tbsp tamari * 1 tbsp brown sugar * Togarashi powder, to garnish, optional * Fried garlic granules, to garnish optional METHOD 1. Toast the white sesame seeds and salt in a small saucepan on a low-medium heat. As they start to turn golden brown and you smell its aromatics, remove from the heat. 2. Transfer the seeds and salt to a mortar and pestle, then grind until you form a fine to medium powder. 3. Add the tahini, tamari, sake and brown sugar and mix into a paste. Set aside. 4. Fill a large pot with water and bring to a gentle boil. Blanch the edamames for 3-4 minutes or until they are bright green and cooked through. Drain well. 5. Evenly coat the edamame in the sesame paste and serve. You can garnish with togarashi powder, fried garlic and flakey sea salt if you wish. #edamame #japanesefood #EasyRecipe #healthyrecipes #snackideas #gomashio #izakaya #deliciousfood #foodblogger #foodies #recipeshare #foodtiktok
