Ok so since everybody keeps getting “google it” responses imma write this for yall. First off fuck yall for replying that way, a simple reply isn’t that difficult. Rose McGowan is best known for playing Tatum in Scream and Paige in Charmed. She met Harvey Weinstein in the 90s and claimed that he raped her in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. 1998 she settled a settlement of $100,000 which was basically hush money that prevented her from naming him publicly or explaining what the money was for. For years after she was told if she went public with the abuse, she’d be blacklisted from Hollywood and never given an acting role again. 2017 is when 80 other women came forward about Weinstein’s sexual abuse and decided to go public. Rose was one of the girls who was going to share her story after years of being told to shut up. Shortly before the story was meant to go on the news, she was offered $1mill to not share her experience. She turned it down and told everybody what had happened in 1997.
