Terrible stop for the gecko I don’t know much about betta fish. Drowning isn’t the only risk, they actively enjoy digging and you’re depriving it of a natural behavior good for enrichment

This is dangerous for the crestie.. it would make more sense to use the bottom as it should be used for one creature and not jamming two together that do not benefit each other..

paludariums are quite dangerous for cresties, not a great idea, id put in reed frogs or mourning geckos.
