Honestly? my Great-Grandma was a goat. Survived WW2 pretty much on her own with her children as her POS husband was part of the SA and obviously not a good person (I'm just saying she lost 5 of her children due to drowning in the same pond... that's a very weird "coincidence" if you ask me), She then survived the after war time and DDR alone with her children as her POS husband got what he deserved (shit himself to death), raised them wonderfully and encouraged her daughter to go and study (quite rare then) and went one to become a great author who's books are still a testament of the time. I can only recommend them but sadly they aren't translated in any language I think.
