Why does everyone keep repeating the exact same take? Does nobody have an original opinion anymore? “Jinx’s season 2 writing is bad” is such an overused claim, and honestly, it isn’t nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It has flaws, sure, but a lot of her character arc is completely understandable. / In season 1, Jinx’s maniac episodes came from the conflict between being “Powder or Jinx.” It’s the cause of her hallucinations, her identity crisis and not being able to totally accept that she’s a jinx. and her reckless behavior and the crimes she did in s1 was driven by her need and desire to prove to silco that she’s useful / After Silco dies, she finally accepts herself as Jinx. You can literally hear the voices in her head fade away right there. The hallucinations mostly stop because she’s no longer fighting her identity. In that scene she mourned the death of her sister too because she realises Vi still can’t let go of Powder and the only person who accepted her has just died. She lost all of her bonds now. / By Act 1 of season 2, Jinx embraces her label as a force of nothing but death and destruction. She isolates herself, becomes emotionally numb, and is ready to die fighting Vi. /as much as I’m not fan of isha but she is important here because she's the ONLY character who has no connection to her past or traumas. So when she puts herself in harm's way to save Jinx, or willingly approaches her, it gets to Jinx. She's meant to be a force of death, yet this deaf child tried to save her all the same. It makes Jinx realise that she is still capable of forming bonds with others, of being able to care and nurture something rather than simply destroy, and that's why we see her change in act 2.
