It detects the weight of the air because carbon monoxide is heavier then oxygen

they have specific chemicals inside that react to other chemicals ( carbon monoxide etc ) then it would have some sort of chemical reaction Activating the alarm.

Smoke Alarms detect particles and density using a sensor or optical sensor which rise with heat so they are positioned in areas like stairways and corridors. CO alarms only detect CO gas and CO has the same density as air, they should be positioned in a different place near occupied rooms or bedrooms when there is a risk of a gas heater producing fumes that contain CO. BBQs and engines produce CO too.Bt the way smoke alarm and fire detector are again are two different sensor alarms. Ones for smoke the fire alarm uses heat or significant rise in temperature.

It has an alpha particle emitting material, as you should know alpha particles can be stopped insanely easily, so when smoke particles get between the material and the reader of particles, it blocks the radiation and when the reader doesn’t detect any radiation, then it starts beeping.

there is constant movement of radioactive material when that movement is distributed it goes off

Myles :þ :
The explanation makes it sound even more BS for smoke it used radioactive material and then the smoke blocks the particles from reaching the detector so when there’s no radiation hitting the sensor it goes off
