I used to volunteer for MAW and one of my first wishes was a little boy that wanted to meet stone cold Steve Austin and the mom wouldn't allow it because she said wrestling was too violent but she was just fine with him watching it. we were there for TWO hours trying to get a wish going for this kid.... typically the initial visit is like 30 minutes. kid was crying, mom wouldn't budge. it was a mess 😭 in the end I think he ended up going to a live match but never met stone cold...who btw met tons of maw kids and was the nicest guy from what I heard

What I am learning from these comments is make a wish should do a one on one interview with the kids and then just tell the parents where to show up. 😂

My husband qualified but his mom was like “well you weren’t dying” and never moved forward with the process..he had colon cancer at 14 🤦♀️he’s so mad he didn’t get to do it lol

my brother didnt even find out he had a make-a-wish chance til after he had been in remission/fully cleared 🤣 our parents; someone else could've used it. mind you we didnt get to go anywhere fun cause we didnt have the money for it 🥲

As a Make-A-Wish kid, they do indeed expire. U only have a certain amount of time with ur Wish Coordinator. I was allowed to put my wish on hold tho bc of covid

My son is a make a wish kid! And 10000% chose Disney world, but we went over 472718 other ideas 🤣 then Covid hit and it got canceled for 3 years lol. But we were glad cause by the time we went, he was in much better health, and big enough to ride alllllll the rides 🙌🏽🙌🏽

My friends mom used her make a wish to go to a nascar race in Chicago and meet her moms favourite driver. My friend had never watched nascar.

mine never happened bc according to my grandparents (legal guardians mind you) I should be more realistic about it and we should do something else instead. my wish: to meet the spice girls. the wish that ended up happening? a ski trip in Colorado bc that's what my little sister wanted to do instead.

My make-a-wish was a shopping spree because my mom wouldn’t buy me anything that wasn’t a basic human necessity and sometimes she didn’t even do that. I got my real make a wish because someone I knew went to a book signing of Paula Deens and asked her if she would come see me in the hospital. She did one better I got to go to her private home and then help “direct” her Food Network show. I met her sons and their family, Sonny Williams (another chef) and the director was the guy from the old 1980s Campbell soup commercial. We got to have dinner with her after the show because they were just going to throw the food away anyways.
