It’s the Rocket Feather phenomenon. Price goes up quick and high like a rocket but falls down as feather (slow). Fuel companies stands to profits greatly from the sudden price increases and again when the price goes down/as it tapers downs. And the crude an oil company would have bought just before the increase will sell at an increased petrol/diesel price.
