Opposite happened to me. Worked with this super chill old guy. One day right as he was leaving for lunch, he looked at me and said “Doesn’t it seem like Trump’s trying to rule the world? We’ll talk about it when I come back.” Never saw him again. He apparently relapsed on drugs and went crazy.

I told my older (50 y/o) coworker that I was permanently for college. She asked what I’d major in and I said bio/pre med so I could go to med school. She was so mad at me for not telling her any sooner that she was shedding tears, but then she told me “do well in school, so you don’t end up like me and work fast food for the rest of your life.” I was not okay after I clocked out, but she’s been my motivation to excel academically 🥲

Stayed at a job I hated and was severely mistreated at because the older gentleman I worked with was my best friend at work. I took a week long leave and the day I came back I was told he died two days before. I was devastated and I just walked out because he was the only thing keeping me there. I still think about him often

It was my last closing shift yesterday and he stood with me outside bc my ride was late. I was doing so good and then bro spit some wise words. Which were, “In a world full of crazy and dangerous people, you took the chance to grow as a person and avoid all the bad things in your life. Keep that up and I’m so proud of you for choosing yourself instead of others”. Unc had me crying and he hugged me and left after my ride came. 🥀
