Maybelline doesn't test on animals. They sell their brand im China, and the country still does test on animals (though Maybelline itself does not). So inder the rules they can't be considered cruelty free. They are also doing a lot of advocacy work to help Chima stop testing too and have funded alternative methods. I went down a rabbit hole one night. It did help me though!

I don’t know if they have this brand in the US, but Burt’s Bees has a wild cherry lip balm, or a cherry lip shimmer! They’re cruelty free 🥰 🍒

Try Catrice, they are cruelty free and approved by PETA :) Maybe they stopped carrying these specific balms which i looove but they have wide range of other lip balms :) ❤️

Honest to God, my go-to cruelty free replacement for your Maybelline product is lip smacker chapstick in strawberry or pina colada. Strawberry gives the touch of color and pina colada is nice and glossy. Shine and plump look last forever. I get asked all the time what I use on my lips and people are always so surprised lol. Cruelty free!!

If you don't mind a tube, ole henriksen pout preserve peptide lip treatment is the best. It's the only one that lasts for hours on me. I have used multiple tubes!
