I would tell her, "No, you aren't sticking me with anything if you aren't going to listen!" I hate when I tell them that I'm a hard stick and they roll their eyes, just to have to call in the NICU nurses to stick me. But the ones who listen to me, they can usually get it after the third stick. Also, yes, I know they are only allowed three sticks before having to get someone else to try, but I've had a lot keep trying after three tries.

as a canadian nurse it's so crazy you guys have CNAs those aren't a thing here. we do our own vitals, blood sugar checks, adls, ecgs, labs etc lol.

I’ve been an RN since 2009 and aim 48 y/o…. I just started a new job and a new hospital - my orienteer is a 25 year old RN - When she talks, I listen. I’m new here. She orienting me to THIS job and THIS hospital. She is my resource for all things. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been an RN or how old you are. New jobs are new jobs.
