𝔓𝔩𝔞𝔱𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔞𝔩𝔰𝔢𝔦Φ :
P1. All things must have some explanation for their existence, either in the necessity of their own essence or their contingency upon something else (PSR).
P2. That which is mutable is not necessary, insofar as change implies one mode of existence ceasing to exist and another coming into being, while that which is necessary cannot fail to exist.
P3. The universe could have failed to exist.
P4. The universe and its mode of existence are constantly in flux.
C1. Insofar as the universe could have failed to exist and is mutable, it does not exist necessarily.
P5. Because the universe does not exist necessarily, it must be contingent.
P6. If the universe is contingent, it must be contingent upon something else for its existence.
P7. Because that upon which the universe is contingent must be prior to it, it must exist eternally and immaterially, for time and matter are posterior to the universe, and it must have the capability to bring about or sustain the existence of the universe.
P8. If the cause of the universe is does not necessarily exist either, then the causal chain will regress until a necessarily existing first cause is reached.
C2. This necessarily existing, immaterial, and eternal first cause is what we call God, or is at least some kind of demiurge.
