Yep. It’s amazing how people who disrespect us can actually influence us to become better. Ms T Crowley High School sophomore year, I wanted to play college football, but you can’t play when you have remedial English classes, so that summer I went back and took freshman English during summer school. My sophomore year walking into her class of regular English, she stood me in front of the whole class and said I was not smart enough to be in this class. I had her my junior year, and then I requested her my senior year. Then I sent her my English one and English two composition college class papers. And then when I graduated with an English degree, I sent her a copy of my diploma. Then when I got my first teaching job as an English teacher, I sent her a copy of my first paycheck and thank her for influencing me. I’m not smart enough. She was right I am smarter.🥰
