@recteamnyc: This is NYC's most OLD SCHOOL yakitori joint 🍖🍺 I wanted to send a love letter to Yakitori Oh Taisho, one of the oldest yakitori restaurants and izakayas in New York City. I've been going to Oh Taisho on St Mark's Place for well over a decade, and it's become a home away from home for me. There are few places on this planet that are more pleasant to me than sitting at the bar at Taisho with a couple of chicken-skin skewers. Izakayas have become increasingly trendy in recent years, but many of them lack the charm that Oh Taisho has. In my humble opinion, this is one of the most important Japanese restaurants in New York City, and one of those rare restaurants that really transports you to a different time and place.
