It might be Hidradenitis Suppurativa- what I thought was a boil, had turned into a painful abscess that eventually popped and left a lot of scarring- unfortunately it is a chronic skin disease so it never truly goes away can lay dormant for years and can be triggered by anything

have you ever dealt with hidradenitis suppurativa? They can start as painful lumps and seem to go away or come back! I get them in my armpits just from blocked hair follicles or skin rubbing on skin

Use antibacterial soap it’s like a pink foam! Hibiclens you can buy it at Walgreens. Let the area breathe when you aren’t doing anything but then bandage when you are moving around

pain is a good indicator that it’s more likely to be inflammation or infection rather than a tumor, there’s a lot of things it could be so it’s good you’re getting it checked out. if it started after shaving it’s probably an abscess or skin condition but might be your lymph nodes

someone in the comments pointed to it already but it definitely sounds like HS! The shaving thing is most definitely related. if it is HS, use another alternative to remove the hair instead of shaving.

Happens to me when I put deodorant on too soon after I’ve just shaved and the follicle gets blocked 🤷🏽♀️

One thing my doctor told me that if it hurts then it most likely isn’t cancer. I got a biopsy on my breast two years ago and it was scary but remembering what he told me helps when something comes up!

If you’re still weaning it could be a clogged milk duct that traveled to your armpit! I’ve seen this happen to a lot of people

Breast tissue reaches into the armpit! If you recently stopped breastfeeding milk can be trapped there :-)

Wow… this exact thing is happening to me right now. every detail! I’m a hypochondriac, it happens around the time of shaving, the pain travels, it comes and goes!! SO CRAZY!

Ive gotten lil lump thats hurt in my armpit before and a one of my friends mom said it could happen from putting deodorant on right after you shower. Changed MY life tbh

Hi 🙋♀️…happened to me… (obviously not a doctor so get checked out but anyway) mine was totally benign I’m sorry I forgot the name of it. Just know, (usually) when there is pain that’s actually better then feeling a lump with no pain. ❤️. Talk to your doctor. Wish you well.

I get these, my dr explained them as lumps, it seems so so scary some days very comfortable and will change over time. She said my hormones change it a lot
