The bread that they use for garlic bread is already at least two days old. And then it is dated as of brand new when they add the garlic butter to it. Just FYI that garlic bread is never a fresh loaf of bread. I used to work in a Vons bakery and they always made me use the old bread for it.

What do you expect at a food bank? They are giving you what stores donate. Literally food that’s about to expire or expired by a few days. That goes with fruit too. But hey food is food and if it’s edible I will eat it if not just toss it.

the people in these comments obviously dont understand. this happens to me all the time with the foodbank we go to. they give literal rotten produce and moldy items. idk if they even check the date or they dont care but they make desperate people wait in line just to give them a box full of trash. they treat poor people like animals

They didn’t store it properly that’s why it’s moldy but also if it’s past the expiration date, they shouldn’t be given it back out cause I don’t see how it’s legal for them to do that but then grocery stores have to throw expired stuff away and make it just give it to you. What’s the difference of donation still expired?
