The reality is when they make an adaption of a comic/cartoon, the only thing people want to see if that character recreated accurately in real life, that’s literally it. So not casting for accuracy is just dumb and creates unnecessary culture wars.

It’s the same thing anytime an actor is rumored or fan casted for nightwing the conversation is always just about if they are attractive enough to play him as if that is the most import thing about his character.

I hate ppl brining up Chris prat for starlord in this conversation. That movie literally reinvented star lord as a character, he’s unrecognizable from the comics they were supposedly adapting. The only reason it works is because Chris Pratt could just be goofy Chris prat bc they chose a character who could easily be melded into what they wanted . Cyclops does not have that same freedom at all.

You can find an actor who both looks like the character and can act, it’s not hard. It’s like saying Nicholas Holt should have played superman instead of David Corenswet just because Holt is a better actor even though Corenswet fits superman much more

DAMN unc you was shredded at 23. I also really agree that people hyper fixate on looks way too much as if 99% of comic book characters physiques and looks are insane to achieve. Cooper Hoffman is an amazing actor who has that same confidence and personality as his father and Ykw I hope he actually turns out to be cast as cyclops and disprove the haters. I love marvel and ik there’s many great marvel fans but there’s a good chunk of people in this fandom that are just too comfortable shaming people.
