One of the most important parts of the original song (to me) is that it’s not just all current events. The lyrics like “reading p*hubs terms of service, going for a drive — obeying all the traffic laws in grand theft auto 5” hit the hardest because while the world is falling apart around you, you still have to do your day to day. You still play video games. You still go out. The world doesn’t stop turning cause people are dying, creating this eerie dystopian feeling that bo captures perfectly
