I just think it’s not really fair to judge these people off of such limited information. Their financial ability, their time ability, their housing situation, etc. They’re doing the right thing by reaching out for help. If your rescue cannot help have a conversation with them. But putting it on the internet to essentially shame them is why we will continue to have dogs dumped on the street…

My St. Bernard had extreme fear aggression. Three trainers later and we put him on Prozac. Best decision we ever made. He’s SOOOOO much better but we tried everything before resorting to meds. Having a dog for 4 or 5 years and just giving up like that is something I will NEVER understand

I own a dog like that. I invested the time and training. Years and years of time and training. The dog has to learn to trust. It’s been so worth it. She’s been an amazing dog for our family. I won’t judge though because those dogs are hard. We had a hard point in time when we seriously considered our options They aren’t easy. And owning a dog with those issues you get a lot of judgement and backlash from people.

They do private lessons at petsmart…. I had a wild dog with no manners. They helped so much and showed me ways to work with her at home

It literally be from a medication the dog takes. Apoquel can cause aggression. Just an example or it can be the dogs gut being unbalanced. Real food and a good probiotic can fix the gut issues. Even some vaccines can cause aggression, a little percentage can be effected.
