@kordfireprotection: Sometimes freezing a pipe is exactly what the job calls for. 🧊 This pipe-freezing setup creates a temporary ice plug inside the line, allowing technicians to complete repairs or modifications without draining the entire system. Have you ever used one of these on a job? OP: @nitropipefreeze on Instagram #PipeFreezing #FireProtection #KordFire #SprinklerSystems #KordFireProtection
Been present for a 6” on a stainless victolic line. The amount of nitrogen that was used was insane

I think it’s a fantastic idea and we have used it many times but I always have them freeze it before a 90 down line that way if it does cut loose, it cannot come out

dude a 3/4" pipe is nerve-wracking enough I can't imagine an 8" holy crap and 200 psi 😳

ray :
So, at system pressures up to 200 psi, this ice plug holds, and there's no need to drain the water?

I've done that on 2-1/2" copper... this is pretty impressive

Why not relief the pressure via main drain ?

This will cause the pipe to crack. Don’t do it.

Never in my career as this ever been what I needed to do. There’s always a way to drain it. Why not just drain it?
