Unfortunately, she received unfavorable behavior notes simply because she resisted having deworming medication administered orally. Many dogs find that experience stressful, especially in an unfamiliar shelter environment. Despite that, Duchess has shown everyone who spends time with her what a wonderful dog she truly is. She's a goofy, playful girl with a big personality who quickly becomes your best friend if you have a treat. From everything I've observed, she's been around several other dogs without displaying defensiveness. She enjoys her daily walks and is slowly adjusting to kennel life—but no young dog should have to accept a shelter kennel as home. Duchess has captured the hearts of both volunteers and kennel staff.
