The blocks with music and different dj’s at Notting Hill is something Caribana needs to do so the general public has somewhere to party and not interrupt the masqueraders. I loved the vibe in London!

also the origins of nottinghill carnival was after the race riots in 1958 and the death of Kelso Cochrane so probably why it nottinghill feels less orchestrated cause it was built to be 'watched'

Caribana started in 1967 as a centennial project - by Trinidadians in Toronto so it was based on Trini Carnival - a big competition which people prepare for all year
