my thing with Ugly sonic is that they literally Delayed the movie. it was supposed to come in November of the previous year but bc of the reanimating it came out 3 months after

It’s crazy that people think ugly Sonic wasn’t going to be the plan. They had merch made up for the original model, merch guides, posters everything.

I’m pretty sure the last one is half true but it was more The Rock pushing for a live action Moana before he aged out of the role (and him wanting a big hit after his recent failed attempts to take over DC and return to the Fast & Furious franchise).

Ugly sonic is... partially true. The design we got was always intended to be the one by creators of the movie. However, some Paramount executives demanded to have Ugly Sonic instead, even using it in Merch and all that. Creators kept the model, and when trailer came out, got hate, and Paramount executives backed off, they used the one we got. If they didn't already had the model ready, it would take SIGNIFICANTLY longer than just few months of delay to fix it.

The thing with Ugly Sonic is that if it was only a trailer prank there would have been merch and toys and stuff before the movie released. There was none because they had to frantically reanimate the entire movie and redesign all the toys and merch before it launched.

There’s also the theory about how smokescreen was supposed to be hot rod cause it fits his character narrative more but wasn’t because of the legal name hot rod.

Never really bought the Frozen one, mainly because how poorly it would work. Easily bypassed by throwing “head” into the search. Which honestly I feel like people would’ve been doing anyway.

I don't believe the Disney Frozen theory because it's not called Frozen in other languages. In French the movie is called The Queen of Snow.
