Attractive welfare policies act as a magnet, and removing that incentive forces people to think twice before making the trip. The United States has spent years doing the exact opposite and the results speak for themselves. Ending the free-benefits model is one of the most effective tools available if the goal is actually reducing illegal immigration instead of managing it forever.

Simply pass a law stating no benefits are payable for at least 2 years, and then you must have contributed to the system for a minimum 2 years as well
