If you drive, ride, or commute along the Ho–Fume road, please listen closely. We are seeing far too many crashes on this stretch, and almost every single day, lives and vehicles are being lost. The Ho–Fume highway is smooth, but that smooth asphalt can be deceiving. It is packed with sharp, winding curves, blind bends, and steep descents. Combined with over-speeding, reckless overtaking, or driving fatigued, it quickly becomes one of the most dangerous roads in the region. If you are using this corridor anytime soon, please observe these rules: 1. SLOW DOWN ON THE CURVES: Speeding on this highway gives you zero room for error when a sharp bend suddenly appears. Keep your speed moderate. 2. NO OVERTAKING ON BLIND SPOTS: Never attempt to pass another vehicle on a hill, a bend, or anywhere your view of oncoming traffic is blocked. 3. CHECK YOUR TYRES & BRAKES: High speeds on warm asphalt put extreme stress on worn tyres. Ensure your tyres are in good condition and properly inflated before hitting the road. 4. STAY ALERT AT NIGHT & IN RAIN: Visibility drops significantly along the hills during rainfall or late hours. If you must travel at night, slow down even further. 5. COMMUTERS & PASSENGERS: Speak up!
