My cousin looked at her son during a family gathering and said “you do not get to hit me because I don’t get to hit you. Does that seem fair?” and it was the best thing I’ve ever witnessed! There was no yelling, crying or screaming involved.

watching this now 19 years old moved out made me so sure you were going to hit the child and i was so happy and, whats’s the word like it made me feel so regulated too actually😭 so unexpected. i always got taught to hit, i hit people and myself. it’s so nice to see firm but gentle parenting

For me, I do martial arts and my little cousins do too never they try to do stuff like that. I make them either hold push-up position or do push-ups. I don’t yell at them. I give them a firm talk.

I work with kids on the spectrum and when I had a stern voice telling them to stop pinching me i was told i was being rude and i have to just let them pinch. keep in mind the pinches leave bruises 😭

okay thank you I get a lot of frustration because I'm starting out being a mother I have a 1 yr old so sometimes it can be really frustrating I try not to hit her because I know how it feels to be beat/a whooping Everytime I did something wrong

If parents these days actually did this to their kids, their kids would grow up actually learning how to keep hands to their selfs. I get that they’re just kids but sometimes all you need to is just tell them no and if they start trying to hit you, just give them space to calm down . But parents these days just give their kids iPads and phones instead of being outside being a kid yk
