So, my parents told me this. They discouraged me from pursuing anything I loved. I have always had a job, since graduation because of this advice…and I quite literally hate my life at least 50 hours a week.

😂😂 I majored in English and Spanish Lit bc I like words and stories. Cool cool. Zero internships. Panic applied to a school system. Now I’m a teacher starting my 27th year and I still don’t know what I want to be. Too close to the pension to jump ship though.

Yep, this could not be more true. As a freshman in college in 1999 my advisor told me just that… Just pick something I enjoy. So I studied history. I’ve done nothing with history. Ever. Fast-forward 1 million years and 75 different jobs and I’m now a school counselor. Hopefully I don’t pass on the same horrible wisdom to my students. 😂
