beware of trusting pathping. Many secure networks block or limit ICMP. Just because a hop is dropping your packets in pathping doesn't mean it's dropping your real traffic.

FYI if you have a windows file server... you can just go to computer management on it, and look at its shares and open files and force close anything you need to from there or find who has it open...
