@ramsey.solutions: Five signs you're not as behind as you think, financially: 1. You are actively paying off your debt, or are debt free! The average family owes $66,000 in debt. 2. You have savings. 40% of Americans don't have the savings to cover a $400 emergency. If you have an emergency fund of any kind, you're doing great! 3. You're investing in retirement. 37% of Americans have more money in credit card debt than they have invested. 4. You are a homeowner. 35% of Americans don't own a home. 5. You are content with what you have. Everyone is always looking for the next best thing, and they feel like the goalpost is always moving. If you are content with what you have, you are ahead of the game! Where you start doesn't determine where you finish. Small wins build momentum. Momentum builds habits. Habits build wealth. #finance #moneytok #gettingahead

Does that average debt figure include mortgages? Because that seems low

What does being a home owner mean? Free and clear? Or mortgage? Most have a mortgage and are instantaneously several hundred thousand in debt

Having a home doesn’t always show wealth. I have a house that has been going down in value 10% year over year. I would do anything g to go back to renting. I would have freedom and more money to invest.

Financial progress isn't about perfection. It's about consistent, intentional steps. Great reminder! 💜

The apostle Paul said being content in all situations is Great gain and Ramsey is supposedly a Christian . The real goal of life is just not financial. It’s contentment, whether in poverty or an abundance.

Well I went from being in one marriage where we were living paycheck to paycheck. I worked a full time job and my partner worked under the table. After trying to get him to get his GED, get a better paying job. When he suggested I cut back on hours so we could get assistance I decided I needed to move on because he didn’t want the same life I wanted. And that’s okay. I am happily married to my second husband, we both have good jobs, we just bought our first house together and we leave for vacation tomorrow to TN. Sometimes walking away is what needs to happen 🤷‍♀️I’m not the only one who gave up in my form marriage but people still talk about me being the selfish one 😞

All five. Only live within my means and if I truly want something outside of the budget will save for it. Only use one credit card for the travel rewards and it gets paid off every month
