Hey, so gaming is like any other hobby a kid has and your kid is right he can’t pause the game most games these days are live service games. Don’t disrespect your child’s hobby just because you don’t understand it. If you wouldn’t interrupt your kid to do something in the middle of building a detailed model practicing an instrument during football practice, then try not to interrupt them for things that can wait during a hobby like gaming. It’s OK to set healthy boundaries around gaming to make sure your kid has a well rounded life. They’re getting up. They’re getting active. They’re getting outdoors and sunlight and not just sitting in front of the TV all day, but please respect their hobby the same way you would respect football art music or dance.

Unless it’s an emergency I give the respect I want. The one time they don’t fulfill their end of the agreement I let them know that the next time, waiting wont be an option. It’s not that serious and I’m not raising people who are going to do what they are told. I’m raising people that will hold themselves accountable and be responsible or deal with the consequences.

We give them until the end of the current match if they are in one. Otherwise, get up and do what was needed. lol 😂 gamer mom here but we still have rules in place. Happens more often when chores aren't done correctly, so he learns fast lol 😂
