I don’t agree that only 10-15% of law graduates will work at law firms after the bar exam. That’s different than having a job offer which I think is what you meant to refer to. There are a lot of “post bar” positions for law graduates who recently passed the bar at law firms that are not big law. This includes public interest firms and smaller/mid sized law firms. These also usually turn into job offers after passing the bar, so they’re great. I think it’s important to share this just so any law graduates who weren’t aware can start applying/look out for those positions. :) Those positions usually hire any time from April-July for an August start date.

I found out I passed the TX bar last year on the monday after ACL weekend 1. I was in the middle of bucees with a icee and bfast taco in hand. Very fitting

But it is also possible to get a job before sitting for the bar even in the public interest area. I had my job secured a week before graduation and I’ll be doing a fellowship. Many fellowships are selected before bar exam studying has started.

Those who dont have a job lined up, make the most of it. After the bar exam, rest, sleep, do nothing, go to the beach, travel, do nothing, sleep, do nothing...it has most definitely been a few years since you have been able to do that!
