@doclizziedpt: Comment DEEP CORE and I’ll send you a full video breakdown! 5 seconds. That’s all it takes to check in with your core! If you’ve ever wondered, “Am I actually engaging my core correctly?” start here. Use the wall to find your pelvic position:
➡️ Anterior tilt
➡️ Posterior tilt
➡️ Then settle into neutral. From there:
✨ Take a 360° inhale.
✨ Exhale.
✨ Gently lift your pelvic floor.
✨ Wrap (“zip”) your deep core up toward your ribs. Then step away from the wall and try to maintain that neutral position. This isn’t how your core should stay all day long. Your spine and core are meant to move—we bend, rotate, extend, and twist. That’s healthy and necessary. This is simply your home base. Research has shown that your deep core (the transversus abdominis) activates before movement to help prepare your trunk for stability. Think of this drill as teaching your brain where that stability starts so it becomes easier to coordinate your breath, pelvic floor, and core during exercise—and eventually without even thinking about it in everyday life. Your TVA provides the stability, while the rest of your core naturally adapts as you move. The goal isn’t to freeze your core or constantly brace. It’s to create a solid foundation that supports healthy movement. The more you practice this, the more it carries over into squats, lunges, lifting your kids, getting out of bed, carrying groceries, and all the movements that make up your day. That’s exactly how we teach core training inside Mind Body Core. We don’t just show you what exercises to do—we teach you how to coordinate your breath, pelvic floor, and deep core so your body works as one integrated system. Forget the “sucking in your stomach” or “bracing as hard as possible”. We want to create stability THROUGH movement!
