An Arabic-speaking Christian and an English-speaking Christian who use "Allah" and "God" are referring to the exact same God. Similarly, when a Muslim says "Allah" or "God," to them it means strictly the same thing. On the other hand, if we are talking about faith, as soon as a Christian and a Muslim use the word "God," they are not talking about the same concept. The Christian believes in a Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), whereas the Muslim believes in a strictly One God, without any partners or incarnation. In short: the translation of the word may be identical, but the understanding of God behind the word changes completely depending on the faith of the person speaking.
