As soon as my daughter‘s fiancé asked us for her hand in marriage I started taking a little bit of my paycheck and putting it into a high-yield savings account with Barclay’s (@4%) and then when he finally proposed and we started planning, I did exactly this and got a 0% interest credit card and put all the expenses on the card. Not only am I getting points but I’m also getting interest from the money that I continue to save in that account. I will pay it off and anything left over I can give to my daughter and her new husband as a gift on their wedding day.

May I add if you already have a cc, remember to set your cashback awards accordingly for each month for example online shopping expenses (they add up!!) ✨ we did travel cash back and honey we got $400 back 🙌🏾 I have cap one venture and BofA cash rewards card. A lot of people don’t have the money to pay it, which is why getting a credit is an even thought. I almost did this and I’m blessed that I didn’t. Map out how many months you have until the big day, pay your deposits, then take the rest and divide it by how many months you have. You and your partner and or family work together to save that amount every month and find a safe place to store it. I know people still paying on their wedding years later. We had our wedding paid off before walking down the aisle. Honeymoon too 🫶🏾
