I didn’t read the article, so I’m only responding to how you described it in your video. The way you’re talking about it sounds more like a sex-only arrangement (a booty call) than what most people mean by a situationship. If it’s truly just sex, then I can understand your perspective. But situationships are called situationships for a reason. They’re typically much more relational than that. So unless your goal is to only hold one side accountable, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the dynamic in its completeness, because a situationship isn’t created by one person’s unmet needs alone. It’s co-created by two people, each bringing their own fears, needs, and behaviors into the relationship. I think exploring both sides would make for a much richer and less bias conversation.

Wow this makes a lot of sense. From Day 1 I felt like I was fitting a mold of his or a “blueprint” more than being acknowledged for who I actually was. And there was a definite push for physical intimacy quickly. Only for him to disclose later, that he moved fast because he thought I would not accept him if I really knew who he was. And that he was “trying” to be a better person. I could not put my finger on what or why I felt so “off” because everything looked good up front. So it made it difficult for me to find a “reason” to cut things off. I myself had my own fears of rejection and I show up honestly but over perform for approval. This explains a lot.
