We don't cover our heads, we pray in Jesus name and get answers. Isn't that enough proof that God doesn't care if we cover our heads or not. But our heart and lifestyle.

Hi Pastor, we need to back up our arguments with scriptures both in the old and new testament. Assumptions or culture does not count. What is the purpose of head covering for women? Also, why do Bishops and Popes cover their head? Are they women? Tradition and culture don’t count in Christianity unless backed up by scriptures.

In both of the old testament, and the new testament covering of head was tied to cultural contests, and as we know culture ties differs according to demography, in my POV no matter what we think is right, one thing must be constant which is our consciousness not to distract others in a place of worship, coverings or no coverings, this act of modesty can show our state of mind.

To even think it is a cultural instruction is absurd. Paul that always tell us not to be subject to culture or vain traditions will now be prescribing cultural observance to Christians. Everything written in the Bible is for our instruction, unfortunately many have decided to choose what they want.

Yes. In traditional Yoruba culture, head covering is often associated with honour, respect, dignity, and modesty, though the meaning depends on the context, gender, and occasion. For women: Wearing a gele (headwrap) is traditionally seen as a sign of dignity and respect, especially during weddings, funerals, religious gatherings, and visits to elders. Married women, in many Yoruba communities, have traditionally covered their heads in the presence of elders, their husbands' families, or during formal occasions as a gesture of respect. Men: on the other hand wears cap also which also shows dignity and honour but symbolic when a men want to greet an elder he removes his cap to show respect. So if we would look at it in a cultural context as explained sir, I think a yoruba woman is expecting to cover her head. my take sir... I stand to be corrected if any sir 🧎

it's timeless, how would Paul establish a cultural practice comparing headship from God to christ to man and to the woman. Just to establish a culture. The head covering is literally a church practice, as we have water baptism and holy communion having a public signs and display of christ and God lordship

i have questions. is Corinthians Jews or gentile, if they are not Jews why would Paul be teaching them such. The instructions is not timeless, As at the time paul was writing, the community he was writing to has a culture of honour tied to covering or veiling but if he’s to write to a different community that has no culture of veiling, he would use their expression of honor to write to them, but the central message is honor to God and marital context… The instructions are simple, The Head of Woman Is Man, Head Of Man Is Christ, Head Of Christ Is God. Which means Covering for the woman is honor for her Husband, Uncovering for the man is Honor for Christ. Simple to understand
