I made this decision once and regretted it. I picked my dog up bc that seemed like the best way to protect her, but I should have left her on the ground and helped her from there. I could instantly tell she felt more vulnerable and exposed on my arms vs on the ground.

I actually assumed the guy trying to get the charging dog must not be the owner and was just trying to help but scared/uncertain what to do with an unfamiliar dog bc of his lack of urgency 😳 he seems so nonchalant it’s crazy!

The last time we were at the vet there was almost a dog fight that broke out and the front desk girls had to yell at one of the owners because they literally didn't do anything about their dog and were being so irresponsible. I just don't get it.

important: when faced with an aggressive dog, go behind it and grab each hind leg in each hand. gently lift. the dog is captive. let others remove peaceful dogs. release it when safe. learned after years in volunteer no-kill shelter. lots of crazy dogs, fights all the time. sad.
