It’s funny because all the big players are already established. All these other smaller data centers are basically a gamble even with government approval. Are they doing this because of the outrage? yes! are they doing it because they give a fuck no I’m pretty sure this is gonna be a cycle for the next 30-40 years.

Abbott isn’t done. He’s the reason they’re moving in. I live in Hood County. There are 8 data centers and gas plants set to be built here. I grew up here. I’ve NEVER in 33 years seen THIS MANY signs in yards about politics. And I’ve also never seen this many signs declaring voting for a democrat.

so I live in Texas and the reason Abbott is doing this is because of how massively unpopular data centers are in Texas and we got a midterm coming up. Just like anything Abbott does, once they made sure they are still in power they are going to flip back.

The Texas power grid makes me chuckle because we have three major interconnections. They are the east connections, the west connections, and Texas. And Texas regularly needs to be helped by the other two connections

He said it was for the ercot grid an Amarillo where the largest center is being built isn’t on that grid. As a reporter you should find out if all these rules are for the largest one being built in the state
