Men should learn how to crochet and start relaxing and making projects with their partners... it's a very casual date idea too... and please normalise men being vulnerable and open about their emotions!!!

If it weren’t for my hobbies, I don’t know how I would’ve made it this far. It’s nice to have something that brings you a little bit of joy when there’s so much negativity in the world today.

I’m the biggest believer in hobbies. You need something to look forward to that’s for nothing else but personal fulfillment and pleasure.

I’m so freaking numb anymore. I wish I could feel something. It seems like it’s just work, home, lather rinse repeat. Just wish I could feel excitement about the things I used to enjoy. That’s my struggle

Hobbies are probably the answer. Many men, especially those with kids/families put so much into their families that they eventually feel down, neglected, etc. A hobby hopefully brings them joy?!

There is a lot of power in taking a shower, putting on clothes you feel good in, going outside for a walk, leaving your phone at home, getting a cup of coffee and simply existing in the moment, find joy in simple things and simple routines. Find things that pull you out of your own head and into the present moment.

not just hobbies, local groups where you can talk to others who are also interested in those same hobbies! I went to a beer fest for free with 3 friends ($200 price tag) because two of us worked the judging table. only way that could happen was because we went to the local clubhouse first

My hobbies are going to Maui. Speaking of, what are some in-style, modern, yet island vibes I can wear to a nice Maui dinner?

I couldn't agree more, but also as a dad of a almost 1 year old. I also struggle to find time to enjoy hobbies. that is also not always easy to talk about with your partner. thank you for making this video! this should be talked about more.

100% ... Hobbies and mental sanity go hand in hand. The problem is we often end up doing them alone and slowly isolate ourselves.

So true man… there are times when I’ve found myself getting away from the things I love to do, being distant with friends, etc because I’m always so busy… it can really affect one’s mood. And guys just tend to suck it up instead of dealing with it.

Besides hobbies try to get intentional about parenting. It's more fulfilling if you've taken the time to think about your values and how each day/month/season of your parenting behaviours are working toward building those in your kids. The best is if you can blend your interests with your parenting goals and have a kid centered execution.

a good starting place is the stuff you enjoyed doing as a kid but got away from for whatever reason. i bought a couple lego sets and have been getting back into hiking camping and fishing and have been having a good time. it’s given me a place that i can be at peace and be introspective about what changes i can make in my life to improve my situation instead of just doomscrolling

It’s funny because I think one of the things that come with the pressure of hobbies is like a potential financial investment into some of these hobbies. I really wanted to get more into reading as some of my friends are like diehard fantasy addicts, and I ended up getting a local library card and reading some of the same books as them.
