the guy behind every noise at once is the guy behind spotify's classification system. most of those genres you'll find there are made up by him to understand listener behaviors. and he states it's not important for a genre to have cultural context, he looks at it like 0s and 1s... it was mentioned in liz pelly's book about spotify, i learned it there and was shocked. i thought it was an alternative discovery method too before, but it is the blueprint itself....

before the internet i used to go to sam goody at the mall and just buy things solely based off of album art. found a lot of cool bands that way.

i got rid of spotify and genuinely switched to an mp3 player like im back in school again LMAO but lemme tell you i dont miss it at ALL! i was big into it and my only thing now is i cant customize my playlist covers and stuff as much as before but its a fair trade off imo and i can always get a better mp3 !! no ads, no premium payments, its GREAT
