@ocean.oasis.farm: Are your seedlings growing tall, thin, and weak? Leggy seedlings are one of the most common problems when starting seeds indoors, but they’re also one of the easiest to prevent. In this video, I’ll explain why seedlings become leggy and share simple tips to help them grow short, sturdy, and healthy. Learn how proper lighting, light placement, airflow, temperature, and timing can make all the difference in growing strong transplants for your garden.

maybe I shouldn't have started my fall seeds already. my broccoli is already about 4 inches tall. learned that it's too early for my collards. they look horrible. I'm also in 8b and it will be hot well into September. most things are stunted bc of the heat.

We started a lot of pumpkin, flower and cucumber seedlings outside on the table under a garden umbrella because the kids wanted to start seeds inside (which I knew would get leggy and of course they did) and it was a wonderful experiment!

If you start seedlings outside in trays, do you recommend putting the top over them or that would be too much heat for the soil?

Mine is leggy but I had just purchased a grow light and set it under for 12 hrs with the ceiling fan out. My cosmos are still leggy though.
