Hi Missy- thanks so much for all your tips. I follow them all and think I have a good shot at getting an offer. Although it’s an hour commute each way though (3 days/week). It’s hybrid. Do you think an hour commute each way is too much?

lol thank you notes are outdated. hiring teams know exactly whether they want to hire you or not move you forward at the end of your intevriew. a thank you note will not change that

59 interviews this year. I’ve done exactly this. Short, sweet, reflective thank yous the next day. I don’t expect a pen pal but I’ve only ever had one reply. Frankly it feels like most people do not care about candidates, we are just a number.

I sent it about 26 hours later but I don’t get a response from them. Not sure if it matters as much as you think when panel scores are what count in government. I also have ran into interviews that I did not know who the panel was so I sent an email to the one that I did know and asked to pass my thanks to the others

I emailed the hiring director about my application and messaged the CEO and got an interview. I sent my thank you email a few hours after my interview and I got an offer the next day, so I do think it works but not for every company.
