Here is what happened to me. I had signed up with one cc for initial startup fees then swapped account to a diff card which is from my health insurer. The health insurer card renews each year and sometimes changes codes. When the monthly charge was blocked at the health insurance cc, Planet Fitness charged my previous cc and charged me a late fee despite me never giving permission to use the older card. And since they had received payment there was no need for the late fee!! The health insurance cc just needed an update which a simple phone call would have fixed.

This is unrelated to a gym but if you ever need money, don’t use Albert. They will try to charge you under two different merchant names as well….

What we need to do actually as a collective is stop them from even accessing our bank accounts like that. like why is it that you need to only have a bank account or credit card on file and you should be able to pay manually. you should be able to walk in and pay cash. they should not restrict your forms of ability to pay at these places. this is ridiculous
