There are insurance companies that provide coverage even if you have a pitbull or other aggressive breed of dog. Only thing is that the policy will not provide any animal liability coverage.

Former insurance company person here: they will drop you for aggressive dog breeds, trampolines, swimming pools and undeclared teenage drivers

Not without announcement. States have guidelines stating that a carrier must notify an insured within a certain amount of time depending on the reason. Some carriers will cover a dog and there are specific policies for it. This is where a good broker and agent come in. They must underwrite and ask the right questions. I have 20 years experience in the insurance industry. 😁

Be careful - the dog dna companies sell your information to insurance companies. When shopping, they knew exactly what percentage breed both my dogs were (used two different dna companies). Some don’t discriminate based on breed.
