I agree with not talking shit about your significant other, but venting about my grievances about my exbf to my friend made me realize he was abusing me. Never let a man isolate you. Always have someone who trusts and believes you, you never know when a man will turn on you

These work if both parties are willing to put in the effort to do them. Seeing as how my husband just shuts down and refuses to talk to me, it would be one-sided for me. And itโs convenient. Iโm seeing this today, because we are currently in a fight lol

Let them talk about something their passionate about even if it doesnโt interest you. The other night on a date night the topic of Harry Potter came up. I LOVE Harry Potter! I went on a long tangent and the whole time my husband was looking at me like he was falling in love all over again. I asked him why he was looking at me like that and he said I like to see you happy and talking about what youโre passionate about even if itโs not for me I love seeing you happy.

We play a video game called โIt Takes Twoโ about a couple about to divorce. They have to work together through their problems to get to their daughter and fall in love all over again. Every argument is through the game we talk.

The court sounds like a really good plan but then weโd argue again cause I might be a better lawyer and she will not like it

for teens, since we don't live together we only argue on the phone to avoid letting people see us in that situation and we apologize at all times no matter who's wrong or right ,if we really mad or sad in public we sit or stand together keep quiet and hug until we can talk to each other

Fights arenโt about winning against your spouse. We donโt want the other person to loose. Itโs not like that. Iโd never want to make him feel like a looser or vice versa. Thatโs our other half. When we realized that fact, fights really quit being fights and turned into conversations. 15 yrs this April.

My husband has trouble knowing what to clean around the house without me telling him but I hate micromanaging. We got a giant white board โto doโ list so if I see something that needs to be done, I just write it down in the moment for either of us to do when we have time. That way Iโm not micromanaging or bossing him around

The 1 about not venting to family is so true, they get angry for you but they remember long after youโve forgotten whatever trivial thing it was about. No matter how angry we are we always sleep in same bed & tell the other we love them before sleep, if argument was about something that needs discussion, we do it in morning over coffee with calm heads

If one is upset or super cranky, the other will come over and sniff them. And say โoof. Someone smells grumpyโ and then you have to jump around together. Jumping gets endorphins going and youโll be hard pressed to not smile or laugh.

been together 27 years married 24. when we were going thru a very rough patch we would soak in our tub together. it gave us an opportunity to talk about vulnerable things without getting angry and walking away. we had a very large tub at the time with seats for 2 ppl, jets, heated, everything. even if we weren't needing to have a tough conversation, we would just soak, at least 1x a week. we also had a TV built in the tub area (stand alone tub) so we could watch a movie.
I tell ppl that lasting relationships aren't always rainbows and butterflies, need to remember that every single couple has issues, it's how you choose to deal with the issues that define what the relationship is. nothing is a fairytale, no one is happy 24/7 365.
also truly sit with yourself and think, visualize life without the other person, as if they are dead... if you see yourself happy then it's not meant to last.

I always wait outside when my honey gets off work and we'll sit in the car and talk about our day or hash things out, and once we leave the car we dont bring any of it into our home.

My husband and I have been married and 22 years and both very take charge ppl at our jobs. We have finally figured out to tell each other โyou are not at work, loose your work/boss tone of voiceโ it works! Also my husband is very laid back and Iโm the ADHD squirrel on crack. So opposites really do work together ๐
