My moms dementia didn’t hit me until the doctor asked what a keyboard was and she couldn’t tell her. My mom was a secretary for years and had the first computer in our town, she knows a keyboard!

He can’t count back from 7. He struggles with time. He can’t draw a clock. Something is wrong in the frontal lobe. He either cannot keep the task in mind which is concerning or it’s his temporal lobe and he doesn’t remember / didn’t encode it. Very concerning regardless

It’s either dementia or it’s alcoholism. My father behaved the exact same way and we spent tons of money on getting him tested only to find out he was a secret raging alcoholic and that’s what was giving him the symptoms. Either way, something is up and I hope she eventually realizes she needs to get him help
